The Mississauga First Nation's collections are made up of books owned by the Mississauga First Nation and supplemental texts which are on loan from the Ontario Library Service - North. We also subscribe to the rotating blocks -native and non-native books- from this service, which we are allowed to keep for four months. These books include newer titles than those found in the supplemental text collection.
The Mississauga First Nation Library has become the location where the community newsletter, Smoke Signal, is published. The community newsletter is printed monthly and is sent to all community members of the Mississauga First Nation on and off reserve. It is used as an information tool, letting community members know what is happening in the many programs being run. It is also used to inform people about the latest issues that may be affecting them. I.e.. health issues, government issues, family issues, etc.
