Community Access Program:
GOAL:
To
educate the community of Moosonee in the area of Computer Technology.
The programs main focus is to enhance peoples knowledge of the Internet.
About
the Community Access Program:
The
Community Access Program (CAP) is an Initiative designed by Industry Canada
to service communities in Ontario with computer and internet training.
This program services all ages.
Hours
of Operation: Weekdays: 9
am - 5 pm
Services
Provided:

Kids
Camp: Where children between the ages of 6-12 years old
learn how to surf the internet and use a computer properly.

Computer
Access: a time for people to utilize the computers available
for purposes of job search, typing resumes, research and doing homework.

Internet
Access: The community members opportunity to surf the internet and
learn how to use it to their advantage.

Web
Page Development: The employees at this point will help
an individual create an internet web page for members of the community
or local organization.

Babysitter's
Course: Where children over the age of 12 can obtain
their Babysitter's Certificate. The course which is on CD Rom involves
four activities, four tests and the BIG Exam. The Big Exam has to
be passed with 100% before the certificate can be issued.
Youth
Employment Strategy:
Each
summer the Moosonee Native Friendship Centre obtains funds through the
Youth Employment Strategy to hire
a youth to run the capsite during the summer months.
