GAIA Ultimate

We have 19 teams entered so far and I'm hoping to get a few more (North Bay teams still have to get it together) so we'll have 20-25 teams total (same number as previous year's so Solstice didn't hurt us too badly!!). Only HALF of you have paid so please contact me to let me know if your still comin - ALL fees must be due by JUNE 13th at the very latest cuz food orders, etc... need to be paid!! THE PARTIES

Friday night social is at "THE WALL", it will be a Hawaiian theme. This is Nipissing University's on campus pub on College Drive. They really have great accommodations as well (more info on this to follow). Entry fee is FREE!! You will also be able to get a schedual for Sat pool play at the pub.

Saturday night social is at WYLDER'S, at the corner of Main st. and Wyld. We have another GREAT band booked and we just can't get away from the RETRO theme - we love it too much!! Entry fee is $6. GET INTO THE SPIRIT OF THINGS AND GRAB YOUR FUNKY GEAR!!

Gaia Ultimate will be supporting Northern Flights this year. If you are interested in purchasing some gear, just visit our website, click on the icon and check out their new lifestyle clothing and cleats. All purchases will go towards sponsoring our tournament!! So, get out there and buy, buy, buy!! Unfortunately, Gaia wil not be at the tourney but you can still order gear from the website and receive FREE SHIPPING for two weeks after the tourney ends. FOOD BANK

This area has been VERY weak over the past few year's. I know ALL of you have a dusty can of lentils or something you can donate!! Please, please make sure your team contributes a box of food bank items - it IS part of your entry fee. Just write your team name on the box so I know who the generous givers are and which teams to charge double next year - haha. (thank you to those teams who have given in the past - it's truly appreciated!!).

RANKING

I avoid ranking at all costs! It's just too difficult to properly rank teams I don't even know; with changing players, different team names, I just can't keep up. Therefore, I'll do the best I can to divide up Sat pool play according to the ranking you gave your team and by city, I'll try to send out Sat pool info the week before so I can get feedback from you all about how fair it looks. Sunday pools will be decided by Sat ranking. Each winner of Sunday pool play will look like this:

  • A - Champs, will win their $325 back!!!

  • B - Consolation, $100

  • C - Spirit, $75

  • D - Beer, $50

    Second place in each pool should win some kind of product: shirt, hat, shot glass, we just have to get the things first.

    ACCOMMODATIONS

    We're really hoping teams will stay at the Nipissing University dorms. They are fantastic!! Full kitchen, livingroom, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms both with showers!! You'll get a special student rate of $23.50 if you say your with "Ultimate Frisbee". Check out the Tournament Information page for more info on this. Camping in town is limited and much farther from the fields/parties but I can give you some info on this if needed.

    CAPTAIN'S MEETING

    Will take place at 8:30 am at the picnic shelter at Lee Park on Memorial Drive (same location as previous year's). Food set-up, disc sales, field info, dinner, etc... will all take place at this location.

    2 POINT RULE

    This, as always, will be in effect again this year!!! If you catch the disc behind your back (anywhere from your back to the ground), in the end zone it will count as 2 points. Behind your head or neck does NOT count. So, get your team out there and start practicing!!!
