Sale of Used Materials Policy
1. The Board reserves the right to dispose of used or
donated print and non-print materials to:
a) raise funds to purchase new resources and equipment
b) dispose of outdated technologies
2. The following procedure will be followed to ensure a fare
and equitable disposition of materials.
a) the Board will determine prior to the sale advertising
being sent out, whether the materials for sale will be 1) priced by the Board;
2) public auction to the highest bidder; or 3) closed bids
b) no materials other than used books and magazines will be sold
prior to the sale date. Books and magazines will be individually priced.
If a used book price on the internet can be determined the BRPL sale
price will be 50% of the internet price.
c) all sales are final
d) all goods are sold as is. When possible deficiencies will be
noted for the public's information
