Library Usage By Other Groups


The Library's meeting room areas are as follows:

a) The conference room in the basement is limited to use by Library Board and staff, including volunteers as prescribed by the Ministry of Labour due to there being only one exit from the basement. It cannot be used by the general public.

b) The study room may be booked may be booked by outside agencies, Town of Blind River committees, employees or other groups under the following conditions.
i) There is no cost for the use of the room.
ii) The room can only be used during Library open hours unless special arrangement is made with the Librarian. Special arrangements will only be considered for public interest (ie. meetings or events to support health, emergency or civic planning for which the Library can provide space.
iii) In the event of a meeting or event that requires crowd control, the visiting group will provide sufficient personnel to direct traffic flow.
iv) The study room is still available to individuals requiring the men's washroom, magazines and reference materials shelved in the space. It cannot be shut off from the public.
v) Food and drink are not allowed unless special arrangement is made with the Librarian.
