The Blind River CAP Site has been in operation since September 1st, 2000 and is housed in the Blind River Public Library. On average we have between 5-10 people per day come into the library and utilize the services provided by our CAP funding. The Blind River CAP Site offers FREE internet access to the public during all of the library's Hours of Operation. Printing, scanning, photocopying, word processing, spreadsheet, and limited graphic manipulation programs are also available for use. We suggest that you contact us in advance to use the computers because, as of yet, we are limited to two public computers with access to the internet. The CAP Site now boasts the first 64.4Kbps ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) connection in our Community, which has been brought to us through Bell Nexis. This connection also allows us to have a constant connection to the Internet, without the hassles of dialing-up and disconnecting. The connection has been in place for about a year and we have noticed a drastic change in the speed at which we connect to the internet and the speed at which we download from sites. |
